is 5"6 tall?

So I've been working on a comic about a tall girl. and how it is a pain in the ass. Well then I thought, " hey, maybe there is a comic or anime about a tall girl " well I found out there is and it is called "lovely complex" and I'm watching it and then found out, The girl is only 5"6 or 170 cm, I guess thats pretty tall in Japan, but I'm 5"10 or 177.8 in centimeter I'm guessing, so I'm like "...thats normal hight here for girls...and for boys" So I just wanted to rant... its a pretty good anime i think.
